David Bellin – Chair of the Altrincham & Sale Chamber of Commerce and founder of SUBS Business Events, will be hosting a “Chamber in the Community” event in conjunction with SUBS Altrincham.
Through collaboration with education providers and local businesses, the event will focus on:
- The changing world of work and opportunities for students/apprenticeships.
- The benefits of work experience placements and apprenticeship schemes for students and employers.
- Understanding expectations of both employers and students/apprentices in the workplace and issues that can arise when these are not met.
- Practical advice for students on how they can succeed at work, awareness of their own personal brand and how to become more marketable to employers.

To give some background on the Chamber and our Chamber in the Community Initiative and how it could help his business.

To talk about what legal rights young workers have, what makes for a successful apprenticeship experience and how to ensure expectations are met for both employer and apprentice.
Alex McCann – Owner of Altrincham HQ:
To cover shock and awe of social media – what you put online, stays online. Don’t let stupidity affect your future! Think about your personal brand.
Joan Scott – Director of Adult Learning at Trafford College:
To explain how colleges are working with employers to provide work experience to students and the opportunities. But what can you do to help yourself?
